Reviens by Gerene33 Reviens by Gerene33
The innocence that had been a part of her
Swept away when those three words were muttered
To her by a person whose name she couldn't even remember.

"He is dead" turned her world upside down.
She had come bounding down the stairs
In the beautiful white dress she had made herself,
Now with only ribbons left to her,
She dropped all but one flower,
Her fiancee would never return from the raging sea,
For it had swallowed him forever.

Who is this woman staring out into the water? What unprecedented events have occurred to her? Did she get a discount on that dres-- err, well, these are just some of the questions that will run through your head gazing at this piece! It's forlorn, it's mysterious, and it's a photo-manip called Revien by *Gerene33. ( Suggested by dualdesigns and Featured by halfliquid )

wow... a long time ago when I was still a little girl (13) I had a really good friend. We were hanging out at a concert and having the greatest time. That whole night i was thinking " this is a guy I could definitly marry" The next day he died... in the ocean. great picture. I love it. (your story just reminded me kinda of my story... except there would be SO much more grief involved if he were actually my fiance and all...)

wow, i can't imagine what her facial expression would be like...which is clever because it is up to the viewers interpretation. she stands at an interesting angle, not full on infront of the sea, but as if she were to turn away...but look at her head, it seems to be totally transfixed- as if her soul is wishing her to stay; in hope he may be just over that horizon, and that he'd only be a little while longer...but her body is moving her away.

this is my first comment, as a new member of this site..sorry if i over-analysed this: i tend to do that, and spoil other interpretations.

Hey, its me again.. i'm new to deviant art so i am probably making a mistake in asking you this in a comment, but please forgive me. I was wondering if i could use this picture as a base to a school english essay. I commented on this masterpeice a while ago, and when the essay was assigned i immedeatly though of this. The rubric is to find a picture and write how it is compared to the book Ellen Foster. Your picture has basically the paragraph's already written out, there's the dress, the brooding ocean, adn the girl; lonely and waiting. I would Greatly appreciate it if you would let me, i would ofcourse put your user name under the work cited and give you all credit... If you do not reply before the end of tonight, i will not use it, thanks.
